Dominique Attias addressing the the August 27th conference: Iran 1988 Massacre and Genocide

Dominique Attias, Chair of the European Bars Federation, Vice-barrister of Paris (2015-2017), addressed the August 27th international conference “Iran: 1988 Massacre and Genocide – No to impunity, yes to accountability”

Mrs. Rajavi, you are the star that shines in the dark. Today is a serious day. We know what is going on in a country next to Iran.

The light will come from women, Iranian women. Thanks to you, thanks to these women who are by your side, thanks to these men who are by your side. All these women, all these young martyred women. Oh! They will be avenged, yes, avenged because these executioners who sowed death, who sowed sadness, who sowed desolation, snatched lives. Mothers, widows, children still cry. Yes, it is a genocide. Yes, it is a crime against humanity. Stop this cowardice that makes us Europeans and even the whole world turn away.

Today, an executioner with bloody hands rules over Iran. I saw the Parliament that endorsed him. But you and we will never accept it. Iranian women will never accept it. Because the place of women is fundamental, and they were eradicated in 1988. So few survivors. So many massacres. If we turn a blind eye, it will happen here too. Women are those stars of the world who light up, who always, always, will show the way to justice.

I will always be by your side; the European Bars will always be by your side. We are fifty-two percent of humanity, we women, the majority in the countries, in the bars. We are everywhere and yet our voices are not heard. And you, Mrs. Rajavi, you are there to carry it so high, so clearly, so courageously, you are the president of Iran. And we will be with you until the end. We are wearing red roses for all these women who are no longer with us…. Thank you for giving me the floor. I will always be by your side, always by the side of Iranians of good will. Thank you.
